Judge Renta Irwin: Experienced, Fair, Respected

Veronica Renta Irwin is currently a sitting Judge in the Nassau County District Court. Judge Renta Irwin was born and raised in Brentwood, New York, where her family still resides.

After graduating from Brentwood High School, Judge Renta Irwin completed her undergraduate studies at SUNY Albany, then went on to Hofstra Law School, where she graduated in 1999.  As she went on to private practice, she settled in Nassau County and held Associate positions at 2 Nassau County Law Firms.  In 2001, Judge Renta Irwin established her own practice, Irwin & Streiner, LLC., in Great Neck, New York, where she practiced in multiple areas including Personal Injury, Guardianship, and Constitution Violations. 

In January of 2020, and for four years thereafter, Judge Renta Irwin was the Principal Law Clerk for Nassau County Supreme Court Justice Sharon M.J. Gianelli, both in the Civil and Commercial Parts. During that time, Judge Renta Irwin was also a Professor at Hofstra Law, teaching Civil Litigation and Legal Research and Writing in the Paralegal Certificate Program.

Judge Renta Irwin is the immediate Past-President of the Long Island Hispanic Bar Association, where she served 2 terms from 2021 to 2023. She is also a long-time board member of the Nassau County Women’s Bar Association, a member the Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York, and a member of the Puerto Rican Bar Association. Judge Renta Irwin is also a member of the District Court Judge’s Association and the Latino Judge’s Association

Judge Renta Irwin is currently a part of the Women in the Courts and serves on the Nassau County Equity in the Courts Committee.
